Whether you want a perfect al dente pasta, a wood-fired pizza, or some luscious tiramisu, Italian restaurants in Anderson, IN have you covered. Here are a few of our favorites we’d like to tell you about.
The Top 4 Italian Restaurants Near Anderson, IN
Scampy’s Annex
It’s an odd name for a restaurant, but it’s a great place to visit. You get lots of food for a good price, and everything tastes fresh and homemade. Expect great service, too: the kind that makes you want to come back and eat there again with your friends.
We recommend their Bosco sticks and the large pepperoni bread. Their large Italian chef’s salad is a great choice, and on Thursdays, they have a special on all their pasta. Try the spicy chicken fettuccine or the meat tortellini. For pizza, we recommend the Italian and the deluxe in particular.
Catello’s Italian Art Cuisine
For something just a bit more upscale, try Catello’s. This is a chef-owned place where everything is fresh, authentic, homemade, and made with passion that shows. This is also a great place to try real Italian liquors. If you do, please drink responsibly and never drink and drive.
For your antipasto, try the calamari in umido or the sliced fresh cheeses. Your salad should be the Insalata Julienne, no question, and your pasta choices are nearly endless. We love the ravioli al funghi and the timballo. Try some of the chef features dishes, and get the prime ribeye or the veal chops. Their gelato is out of this world, too.
Mancino’s Pizza and Grinders
This is a casual place with great pizza and wonderful sandwiches. Their gluten-free menu is extensive, which can be a problem at some Italian places, and you can expect fast, friendly service every time. The prices are reasonable and the food is always hot and fresh. This isn’t upscale, but it’s a great spot for a casual lunch.
Be sure to get their breadsticks or the gluten-free garlic cheese bread. Our favorite grinder is the BBQ chicken or the choice steak (we can’t decide). The Joe’s is good, too, with roast beef, onion, peppers, cheese, mushrooms, mayo, lettuce, and tomato. And those are just a few of the options. For pizza, please try their Mancino’s Pride.
Art’s Pizza
This is a beloved local spot with a fun atmosphere, easy-going staff, and service that’s always spot on. It hits that sweet spot between the expensive, high-end Italian you want for a special occasion and the fast-food type that you want for a quick lunch. This is a great spot for an evening out with friends.
Try their garlic pepperoni bread, the spinach salad, and the garlic bread with cheese to start out. Their pasta menu is pretty simple (two kinds of spaghetti), but you’ll not easily find better spaghetti for the price. Their Italian sausage sandwich is awesome, as is their meatball sub, but don’t forget the pizza. We love the Hayes, the spinach tomato basil pesto, and the spaghetti and meatball pizza!
