The Challenger’s blend of iconic styling inside and out, modern tech features, and Hemi V-8 engines make it one of the best performance muscle cars on the market. Even though it’s not the only muscle car you can get, it does the best job of staying true to its roots. The 2021 Challenger continues the tradition of muscle car performance with some minor updates. It now offers memory settings for the driver’s seat, steering column, and exterior side mirrors. You also get new 20-inch wheels as an option for the SXT, with all-wheel drive standard on the GT AWD. Take a look at these 4 reasons why the Challenger is the ultimate muscle car.

4 Reasons the Challenger Is the Ultimate Muscle Car

  1. The Power

The Challenger has some of the most powerful engines you can find under the hood of a muscle car. The entry-level powertrain is a 3.6-liter V-6 with 303 horsepower, and the power just goes up from there. A 5.7-liter Hemi V-8 is optional for the SXT and GT, while it’s standard for the R/T. It develops 375 horsepower and gets 410 pound-feet of torque. The R/T Scat Pack has a 6.4-liter V-8 with 485 horsepower, and the SRT Hellcat comes with a 6.2-liter supercharged V-8 that puts out 717 horsepower. If this isn’t enough, the SRT Hellcat Redeye comes with a 6.2-liter high-output version of the supercharged V-8 that generates 797 horsepower.

  1. The Appearance Packages

The Challenger has an iconic look at the base level, but you have many options to make it even better. The Blacktop Package adds 20-inch black-painted alloy wheels, a black grille and rear spoiler, and fog lights. The Plus Package comes with 20-inch satin carbon painted wheels, ambient cabin lighting, bright pedals, and stitched material for the instrument panel and doors. Add the Shaker Package for a gloss black grille, a shaker hood, shaker intake, and a black rear spoiler. The T/A Package gets you a functional hood scoop for the R/T or R/T Scat Pack, and it also adds a detailed instrument cluster and T/A specific exterior body graphics.

  1. The Comfortable Cabin

One of the best features of the Challenge is the spacious cabin. It has room for five passengers, with plenty of room both for the front and rear seat riders, and more space than any other muscle car in its class. The 2021 Challenger comes standard with dual-zone automatic climate control, while moving up through the trims adds features such as paddle shifters, upgraded cloth upholstery, or leather upholstery.

  1. The Safety Features

Every Challenger comes standard with a rearview camera, and Dodge offers several advanced safety features as options. Some of these safety systems include adaptive cruise control, rain-sensing windshield wipers, a blind-spot monitor, automatic high beam headlights, and rear cross-traffic alert. You can also get forward collision warning and rear parking sensors.

There is no question that the Dodge Challenger is the ultimate muscle car. It has retained its iconic look from the ’70s but has more muscle, added technology, and more modern features to make it stand out from other performance vehicles on the market.
