The 2023 Chrysler Pacifica is the only minivan to offer a plug-in hybrid powertrain. A 16-kilowatt-hour lithium-ion battery pack powers the hybrid 3.6-liter V-6 engine and two electric motors, delivering a horsepower of 260. This hybrid model features a single-input electrical variable transmission combining two electric drive motors with a power inverter module.

The Pacifica's powertrain pairs with a continuously variable automatic transmission. The gas-powered engines offer impressive fuel economy and include a start and stop system, reducing consumption. It routes power to the wheels through front-wheel drive or optional all-wheel drive. This option enhances traction and stability. The hybrid model is only available with front-wheel drive.
